At least 54 people have lost their lives in a series of explosions that shook three cities across Afghanistan.
Thirty-eight people were killed when two back-to-back bombs ripped through the Dar al-Aman district of Kabul near the parliament and government offices. Reports say at least 72 were injured in the blasts that targeted a minibus carrying employees from Afghanistan’s main intelligence agency. In the southern city of Kandahar, two explosions in the governor’s offices left at least nine dead and a dozen wounded. The UAE Foreign Ministry says its ambassador and other diplomats are among the injured. Earlier on Tuesday, seven people were killed in another bombing targeting members of the intelligence community in Lashgar Gah, the provincial capital of Helamd. Taliban have claimed responsibility for all the bombings.
