Everything was set just right for the Rally for Rivers event in Mysuru: the weather, the sunset, the music, the venue, the art and the guests of honour.
Even before the event, dancers performed the robust Veerabhadra kunitha to welcome the audience to the venue, in Maharaja College grounds. As proceedings opened, a team of dhollu kunitha artists drummed up excitement with their animated rhythms.
Besides this, the were two very interesting performances: a fusion violin performance by Aneesh Vidyashankar and a speed painting performance by Vilas Nayak, both of which were thoroughly enjoyed by the animated audience. In fact so lively was the Mysuru crowd that they swayed to Bharatam, Mahabharatam with their placards held high.
Among the dignitaries on dais were Rajmatha Dr Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, his Holiness Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswami of Suttur Math, Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Actor Ganesh, MP Pratap Simha, Member of Legislative Assembly and farmer representative, Puttana.
Sadhguru outlined various points about why he was undertaking the Rally for Rivers. All the speakers wished the campaign the best of luck and promised to support it in any way possible.
