Transport Minister, Dipuo Peters, has expressed deep concern over the five per cent increase in road fatalities during the 2016-2017 festive season compared to the same time in the previous period. There's also skepticism around the efficiency and effectiveness of the country's road safety campaigns following the minister's announcement of the 2016/17 festive season road deaths. 1714 people lost their lives on South Africans roads over the festive period.
